Review of Chemotherapy Outpatients written by a patient
2nd September 2016

Excellent service throughout. A special thanks to Paula for the professional and dedicated way she dealt with me for my first visit, and for the excellent briefing about aspects of the treatment, which, lack of time had precluded me from having before the course started I would have found it quite useful to have a listing of all the drugs I have to take, as although I was told verbally, and it is written on the boxes, I felt mildly confused by it all, by the time I got home.

Review of Chemotherapy Outpatients written by a patient

I was fast tracked from GP to local Consultant at Stroud for -Hyatus hernia but fast tracked again to Glos as detection of poss tumour near bowel. I was quickly operated on and had follow up chemo in Cheltenham for 30 weeks. I can honestly say that we had the best possible treatment right across the board from all staff involved and with kindness & respect. The surgeon went out of his way to keep my wife informed of everything which she really appreciated. Thank you to eveyone concerned.

Review of Thirlestaine Breast Centre written by a patient
25th August 2016

The great news is that less than 2 weeks since I noticed the "lump" I have been to the Clinic in Cheltenham this morning and been tested and diagnosed with a harmless cyst which has been removed. I was in at 8.45am not knowing what news I would hear today and out by 11am with the all-clear. All the doctors and staff were friendly and patient. They explained everything clearly and all-in-all I felt like I was in the right place, in good hands throughout.

Review of LINC Outpatients written by a patient
23rd August 2016

My wife and I had to waited 2 hours and would had been more if we didnt walk out as we had another appointment to attend. We arrived for my appoint at 10.10am with was half hour early to have my blood sample taken as my appointment was for 10.45am. As said earlier we waited 2 hours + and my wife getting annoyed checked with the reception who didnt realise we had been waiting that long to tell us that the blood samples had not come back so would have to wait longer, but we didnt. This has happened every time I have had an appointment at the LINC Clinic. They finally told me that my blood needs at lease 2/3days for tests to be done before I can see the doctor. Why dont they tell me to go and have my blood taken at least 3 days before an appointment it would make it easier not only for me but for the doctors & nurses.

Superb care provided by Oncology department, notably Lilleybrook and Rendcomb wards when I was admitted with a sepsis condition. Care provided through out my stay, not forgetting the Urology department who fixed my kidney problems, including an operation at 9 o'clock at night. Great doctors and nurses.

Review of Thirlestaine Breast Centre written by a patient
5th July 2016

I found this a very positive experience. On my last visit to an NHS breast clinic abut 20 years ago (in Birmingham) I had to wait so long that I walked out and never went back again! It was great on this occasion to be treated with such kindness and professionalism in lovely surroundings and everything worked like clockwork. Thank you very much.

Diagnosis, involving an X-Ray, was made quickly and efficiently. Just a slight delay in getting a nurse to put on the plaster caste, otherwise excellent servcie all round.

Review of ED (CGH) written by a family member
26th June 2016

Staff had excellent bedside manner, especially the HCA, Isobel. Talked directly to the patient rather than the relative, explained what was about to be done, gentle & caring. We were in A&E for over 3hrs. Could have been kept more informed of progress through the department . A lot of staff passed the bay without looking at us. We understood, more by observation than being told, that it was busy, so our expectations were not great. However, when we asked for assistance, it was given in a reasonably timely manner.
